October 8, 2022 – What’s New in Family Tree Maker

For our October 8, 2022 General Meeting Mark Olsen will join us by ZOOM for a live Q and A discussion to answer all your questions about Family Tree Maker, the latest version, updates, features and more. This is an interactive session. We love to see you and discuss all your Family Tree Maker questions.

We will also talk about Family Tree Maker partner products – Charting Companion and Family Book Creator – both are amazing plug-ins that can help you create amazing charts, graphs, and books. We will even show how you can make additional finds with your DNA test results. 

This class is for all levels of genealogists whether you are just getting started or very experienced.

“Final Resting Places”

Our speaker will be Mr. Charles Tingley who will discuss “Final Resting Places”.

This program will discuss the various types of cemeteries that you may find while searching for ancestors. St. Johns County cemeteries are used as examples of the types of final resting places found anywhere in the country.

Mr. Tingley is the Senior Research Librarian at the St. Augustine Historical Society. There he assists persons researching grave sites and burial records on a daily basis. He has been the President of the Friends of the Huguenot Cemetery for over a decade. This program was originally presented several years ago at the Tomb It May Concern symposium hosted by the Florida Public Archaeological Network. 

The meeting will be at the St. Johns County Public Library Southeast Branch at 1:00pm on Saturday, September 10, 2022. Light refreshments will be available. If you would like to bring some too, that would be great.

July 9, 2022 General Meeting Cancelled

Library Closed

The good news is the Library is getting a new air conditioner!

The bad news is that the installation is on July 9 so the Library is closed and our meeting is cancelled.

Charles Tingley’s presentation of “Final Resting Places” will be at our next meeting on on September 10.

June 11 General Meeting Reminder

Find a Grave is a website that allows the public to search and add to an online database of cemetery records. It is owned by Ancestry.com.  Find a Grave is a volunteer project. People add information to the site by walking a cemetery and taking pictures, or from obituaries or other records. 

Pat is a member of our Society and in the last several years has done extensive work in local cemeteries and contributing to Find A Grave and our website, SAGSSupport.org.  Originally from Michigan, she worked in Accounting & Finance before retiring to Florida.

Light refreshments will be available.  If you would like to bring some too that would be great.
